Film Nagar Police Stolen Car Arrest Thieves

Hyderabad: Within 24 hours after a car was stolen, Film Nagar police traced the car and arrested the thieves who stole the car. The police arrested three car theft offenders including a juvenile and recovered a stolen SUV from their possession. The accused who were on the way to Rajasthan to sell the vehicle were intercepted by police and taken into custody.

The arrested accused were identified as Angrige Rohith and Chakali Hemanth. And a juvenile in conflict with law was also taken into custody.

Based on the complaint regarding the theft of a Hyundai Verna car from the parking area at OU Colony, Shaikpet, Film Nagar police booked a case. According to the complaint he parked his car in front of the house he was residing in and the next day in the morning when he woke up and was shocked to find his car was missing. Subsequently he searched the area and as he couldn’t find the car he approached the Film Nagar police and lodged a complaint.

“Using technical evidence and credible information, the Film Nagar crime team, led by J. Srikanth Reddy (SIP) and Janardan Nayak (HC), swiftly traced the stolen vehicle to Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh. With the assistance of the Bhopal Crime Branch, the team apprehended Angrige Rohith and Chakali Hemanth along with the stolen vehicle within 24 hours of the complaint. Subsequently, they apprehended a juvenile associate” said Hyderabad police in an official statement..

Investigation revealed that Rohith had stolen the car keys from the complainant’s residence a week before the theft and had been waiting for an opportunity to steal the vehicle. After stealing the Hyundai Verna, they planned to sell it in Jaipur, Rajasthan. However, their attempt was intercepted and they were apprehended in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, with the cooperation of local law enforcement.

The police have recovered property, including, Hyundai Verna car and three cell phones. The total estimated value of the recovered items is Rs. 16 lakhs. Further the accused are being brought to city on Transit warrant. Further investigation is underway.
