Film Nagar Police arrest Shaikpet resident for repeated obscene acts in public
Hyderabad: Film Nagar Police have arrested a 34-year-old man for exposing himself and performing indecent acts in public, specifically targeting women working at a beauty store. The accused has been identified as Bhuthkuri Ramesh, a resident of Kohezar Colony in Shaikpet and works as a chef at Jelly Belly Food Pvt. Ltd.
The arrest follows a complaint from the store manager at Health and Glow in Aziz Bagh Colony, Tolichowki. On October 16, 2024, around 6:00 p.m., the manager observed Ramesh arriving on a black Activa scooter at the store’s parking area. Dressed in a helmet, an off-white shirt, and black pants, he sat in front of the store and exposed himself with an indecent act upon seeing a female staff member, prompting panic among the employees.
Police investigations revealed that Ramesh had engaged in similar behaviour near a bus stop and an international school in Shaikpet before this incident, leading to a second case being registered against him. The Film Nagar Police took the matter seriously after receiving two reports within two days, prompting a thorough review of CCTV footage in the area.
Ramesh was apprehended while riding the same black Activa and wearing the identical outfit described in the initial complaint. During interrogation, he admitted to the offenses, explaining that he had developed an addiction to pornography on his mobile phone, which he believes contributed to his behaviour. His browsing history reportedly includes frequent visits to pornographic sites.
Originally from Karimnagar, Ramesh married in 2019 and has a baby girl. His wife has been away from him for the past six months due to personal issues.
The accused, along with the seized property, will be presented before the court for judicial remand. The arrests were carried out under the supervision of Vijay Kumar SM, IPS, Deputy Commissioner of Police, West Zone, Hyderabad, T.B. Hanumantha Rao, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police, West Zone, Hyderabad, P. Venkatagiri, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Jubilee Hills Division, M. Srinivasulu, Inspector of Police, Filmnagar Police Station, with the assistance of A. Ganesh Goud, Sub-Inspector, along with the team at Filmnagar Police Station, Hyderabad.
