TSRTC Bus Accident: Female student killed after falling from moving bus
Hyderabad: In a tragic incident, a girl reportedly died after falling under the wheels of a moving TSRTC bus while trying to get off on Friday, June 14.
The incident took place within the limits of the Madhura Nagar Police Station. The deceased has been identified as Mehreen. She was a student at Master’s College in Yousufguda, Hyderabad, in her first year of intermediate studies.
After the accident occurred, bus passengers informed the local police. Upon learning about the incident, police immediately rushed to the spot and shifted the body.
It was learned that recently, a ninth-grade student lost his life on the Outer Ring Road (ORR) at Medchal after stopping to deal with sudden nausea. The high-speed highway turned dangerous for the boy when he exited the vehicle to vomit and was struck by a speeding DCM truck.
The victim was identified as M. Poojitha Ram, a 13-year-old resident of Bhadrachalam.
On Saturday afternoon, while the family was en route from Kukatpally to Bibi Nagar via the ORR, Ram began to feel nauseous as they reportedly approached the Medchal stretch.
A relative of Ram, who was driving the car, immediately stopped the vehicle on the ORR—a high-speed expressway. Ram got out of the car from the right-side door and was standing on the road to vomit when a DCM van suddenly crashed into him, leading to severe injuries,” said Medchal Sub Inspector Lavanya S.
The ORR is known for high-speed traffic, making it extremely dangerous to stop and get out of a vehicle suddenly. This tragic accident highlights the grave dangers of stopping on such high-speed roadways.
