One killed, 3 injured as concrete mixer truck collides in Musheerabad

Hyderabad: One person was killed and three others were injured early Monday morning, December 30, 2024, when a speeding concrete mixer truck lost control and collided with several vehicles, including a police patrol, at Musheerabad Chowrasta.

According to the reports, the incident occurred around 2:30 a.m. while the local Sub-Inspector (SSI) and his team were conducting a routine inspection.

Mohammad Yousuf, the driver of the container, was heading towards the Chowrasta when he lost control of the vehicle due to overspeeding and drowsiness. The container first struck three parked DCM trucks, a Tata Ace, and a two-wheeler before hitting the police vehicle.

The deceased person, identified as Abdullah, was killed, while three others sustained serious injuries and were rushed to Gandhi Hospital for treatment.

The Chilakalaguda police have arrested Mohammad Yousuf and registered a case. Several vehicles, including the police vehicle, were severely damaged in the accident. The investigation is ongoing.

Earlier, on December 28, 2024, in Ranga Reddy, a student was killed and another seriously injured when their motorcycle collided with a divider on the Kokapet Service Road.

The deceased, Satwik, was traveling with a companion when the crash occurred due to overspeeding. Satwik died at the scene, while his companion, also a student, was critically injured and taken to the hospital. The Narsingi police have registered a case, and investigations are underway.

Just two days prior, on December 27, 2024, another fatal crash occurred in the Madhapur police station limits. Two individuals, Raghu Babu and Akansh, both residents of Borabanda, were killed when their motorcycle skidded off the road and hit a divider on the 100-feet road in Ayyappa Society.

The victims were riding a speeding Jawa bike, and it is suspected that the rider was under the influence of alcohol. One of the victims died at the scene, while the other succumbed to injuries on the way to the hospital. The Madhapur police have registered a case.

In a separate incident on December 20, 2024, a 20-year-old student named Lokesh lost his life in a head-on collision with a private travel bus in Punjagutta. Lokesh, who was pursuing a B.Tech degree, was traveling with a companion on a scooter when the bus collided with them.

Lokesh died at the scene, while his companion sustained severe injuries and was rushed to the hospital. The Punjagutta police have filed a case following a complaint from Lokesh’s family, and the investigation is ongoing.
