Farmer dies after fall while chasing monkeys

Rajanna Sircilla : A 60-year-old farmer died after falling while trying to chase away monkeys in Rajanna Sircilla district on Sunday.

According to relatives, Boddu Rajaiah of Suddala village in Konaraopet mandal was engaged in farming for his livelihood. When monkeys climbed onto his house, he tried to drive them away. As the animals lunged towards him, Rajaiah panicked and fell down.

Family members rushed him to hospital after he lost consciousness. Doctors declared him dead on arrival.

The incident cast a pall of gloom over the village during the festival. Villagers urged authorities to support the bereaved family and take steps to control the monkey menace in the area.
