‘Family Digital Health’ programme to begin within a month: Revanth Reddy

Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy announced that the government will begin collecting the medical history of citizens within the next 30 days. The government is planning to issue family digital cards to every household in the state. He made this announcement after inaugurating the Durgabai Deshmukh Renova Centre in Hyderabad.

‘One state, one digital card’ initiative

Currently, beneficiaries are using different cards to avail various government schemes. The Congress government is considering replacing all the existing cards with its ‘one state, one digital card’ initiative.

Speaking on occasion, Revanth Reddy said the Congress government is committed to provide better medical care to the poor people. He asserted that cancer care should be accessible to everyone in the state.

Explaining the necessity for a digital health profile, the chief minister said the digital health profile created under the ‘Family Digital Health’ programme would contain the previous medical history of the patient and it would be helpful for the doctor as well to suggest further treatment to their patients.

“The government will collect the health records of all four crore people of Telangana state to digitize them. After the digitisation process is completed, the patients and doctors would be able to access the medical records by scanning a QR code,” Revanth Reddy said.

The state government would link all the government welfare schemes with the single digital card to facilitate the beneficiaries avail benefits of schemes such as ration under PDS system, health and other government services without much difficulty.

As the cancer cases are rising in Telangana, Health Minister C Damodar Raja Narasimha announced the State government’s plans to address the issue. He said the government will set up cancer care centres at the district level which will help local people to get early diagnosis and accordingly seek proper treatment. He also praised the legacy of Durgabai Deshmukh Hospital for their medical services to the poor people.
