Fake Medchal Tahsildar detained at Telangana Secretariat, transferred to Saifabad PS

Hyderabad: On February 6, 2025, an individual was caught illegally entering the Telangana Secretariat premises using a fake identity card. The person who posed as the Tahsildar of Medchal-Malkajgiri District was apprehended and handed over to Saifabad Police Station.
According to the complaint submitted to Saifabad Police Station, R. Lurdhu Raju, a Sub-Inspector at the Telangana Secretariat, was on duty from 9:00 a.m. on February 6 until 9:00 a.m. on February 7. At around 11:50 a.m., the Telangana Special Protection Force (TGSPF) reported suspicious activity on the ground floor. Following this, Raju instructed the personnel to investigate the matter.
The personnel, Md. Yousuf and P. Anjaneyulu, approached the individual, who initially claimed to be the MRO of Tipparthy Mandal, Suryapet District. When asked for further details, the person hesitated and attempted to leave the area but was immediately detained by the personnel. During a search, a duplicate identity card was found on him, identifying him as Kompally Anjaiah, Tahsildar of Medchal-Malkajgiri District.
Further verification with the Tipparthy Tahsildar’s office revealed that no such officer existed. CCTV footage showed that the individual entered the Secretariat premises at 11:28 a.m. in a vehicle with the registration number TS 08 JD 4727, which displayed the title “On Government Duty, Tahsildar and Executive Magistrate.”
The individual admitted to creating a fake identity card and using the vehicle to impersonate an official and gain access to the Secretariat. His vehicle, mobile phone, and fake identity card were seized, and the case has been handed over to the police for further action.
A formal request has been made to register a case against the individual for using a counterfeit identity card to gain unauthorized access to a high-security area.
