Hyderabad: The Catholic Reddy Youth Association (CRYA) Cricket Premier League 2025 has entered its fourth week. The tournament has showcased thrilling performances and competitive matches that have kept cricket fans in Hyderabad on the edge of their seats. The league, which began on February 15, 2025, has already seen intense action, and the race for semifinal spots is heating up.
In one of the most exciting matches of the week, Blessed Challengers set a new benchmark, posting the highest score of the tournament so far, 253 runs against Elev8Edge. The standout performer in this match was Thumma Joseph of Blessed Challengers, who played a sensational knock of 139 runs off 68 balls, including 10 sixes and 14 fours. His explosive batting helped his team reach an imposing total and earned him the title of second-highest individual score of the tournament. Dheeraj also contributed significantly with a quick-fire 49 runs off just 21 balls.
In other notable individual performances, Kranthi from Rayolina Champions scored 90 runs off 39 balls, while TBR Manish Reddy of Guardian Angels made an essential contribution with 81 runs off 50 balls. Kranthi of Rayolina Champions also impressed again, scoring 75 runs off just 25 balls in another match. Anvesh Gade from JMJ scored a valuable 69 runs against Guardian Angels in another key encounter.
On the bowling front, Rana Charan of Blessed Challengers was the standout bowler of the week, taking three wickets in his team’s match against Elev8Edge. Other top performers with the ball included Vinod Kasu of Guardian Angels, who took three wickets against JMJ, and Prem of Design Walls, who also claimed three wickets in his team’s match against Holy Hitters.
The Blessed Challengers have already secured a spot in the semifinals due to their consistent performances as the tournament progresses. However, the battle for the remaining spots is far from over.
Tournament organizer Allam Nithin Reddy provided an update to Hyderabad Mail, stating that out of the 50 scheduled matches, 38 have already been completed. With key matches remaining, the coming weeks will be crucial for teams looking to secure their place in the semifinals. While Blessed Challengers and Rayolina Champions are expected to qualify, the remaining teams still have a chance to make a strong push.
The CRYA Cricket Premier League features 10 teams: Blessed Challengers, Design Walls, Christ the King 11, Elev8Edge, Guardian Angels, Holy Hitters, Brave Spirits, AB’s Predators, Rayolina Strikers, and Dhatri Dragons. The league’s auction, held on January 9, 2025, saw intense bidding, with the highest player bid reaching 25,000 rupees.
As cricket’s popularity continues to grow in India, the CRYA Cricket Premier League is helping fuel the rising enthusiasm for the sport in Hyderabad.
