HYDERABAD: Settlement of Employees’ Provident Fund (EPF) claims, including partial withdrawals, is likely to be delayed for at least two weeks as the Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) upgrades its software platform.

EPFO said the transition to its new claims processing system could result in longer-than-usual processing times until the upgraded software stabilises. It urged subscribers to cooperate during the migration period.

The organisation had taken its servers offline from June 26 to carry out software upgrades, improve automation and strengthen its digital infrastructure. Although the new member and employer portals were initially expected to be available from July 1, the rollout was delayed because of technical issues.

From Friday, EPFO restored its modernised member and employer portals in line with the EPF and Employees’ Pension Scheme, 2026 (EPS-2026). However, software work on the passbook service is still in progress, and temporary interruptions are expected. The organisation has advised subscribers not to repeatedly access the website during peak hours.

New features on the member portal

The upgraded member portal includes several new facilities:

  • Members can now view their complete service history, including all organisations they have worked for and their current EPF membership status.
  • The portal allows users to track the status of full withdrawal, partial withdrawal and pension claims.
  • Scheme certificates issued by previous employers can now be surrendered online.
  • Members can track claims filed through both the old and the new software platforms.
  • Claim applications can be cancelled immediately after submission if the member decides not to proceed.
  • The Universal Account Number (UAN) card now includes the member’s photograph, a feature that was not available earlier.
