Engineering Student Killed In Hit And Run Accident In Bachupally

Hyderabad: In a tragic incident on Saturday morning, March 8, 2025, an engineering student was killed, and two of his friends were injured in a hit-and-run accident in Bachupally.

The victims, K Nani, Karthik, and Vishwanth, were students at a college in Bachupally. The trio were riding a scooter from their hostel to Pragathinagar when the accident occurred near a fuel station. An unidentified vehicle hit their scooter, causing Nani to fall onto the road, where he was run over by a heavy vehicle. He died on the spot, while his friends sustained injuries but survived.

Police have registered a case and are working to identify the vehicle involved. The body has been sent for post-mortem.

Truck overturns on Masab Tank Road

In a separate incident, a truck overturned on Masab Tank Road early on Saturday. The truck, traveling from Masab Tank towards Mehdipatnam, flipped, causing traffic delays. Authorities brought in a crane to remove the vehicle. The truck driver was injured in the accident.

Meanwhile, on Friday, March 7, 2025, a fatal crash occurred on the Outer Ring Road near Gollapalli Kalan. The crash involved a car colliding with a lorry, resulting in the death of 19-year-old Kanishk Reddy. He was the grandson of Teegala Krishna Reddy and the son of former BRS corporator Teegala Sunaritha Reddy. Despite being rushed to the hospital, Kanishk succumbed to his injuries.

This incident follows several fatal accidents in the city. On January 31, 2025, Dr. Jaswanth, a house surgeon at Kamineni Hospital, died in a crash near Khanapur. His colleague, Dr. Bhumika, later died from her injuries. Both doctors were returning from an event when their car lost control. In another fatal crash on September 30, 2024, Dr. Nilay Reddy, a 29-year-old specialist, died after his car collided with a road divider on the ORR.

On September 21, 2024, Raga Jyothi, a 32-year-old woman, was killed after being struck by a lorry while crossing the road in Medchal. Just days earlier, Neeta, a woman from Nacharam, was run over by a lorry while riding her scooter.
