Election Commission extends Telangana SIR deadline to August 3
HYDERABAD: The Election Commission of India (ECI) has extended the deadline for the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Telangana to August 3.
The SIR process was earlier scheduled to end on July 24. The ECI decided to extend the deadline as the exercise has not been completed across the state.
Political parties seek more time to complete process
Booth Level Officers (BLOs) have distributed enumeration forms door to door. However, many voters are yet to complete and return the forms to the BLOs.
Political parties also sought more time to complete the exercise. Following the requests, the ECI extended the SIR deadline to August 3.
