Elderly couple rescued after living with deceased son for 4 days in Nagole

Nagole: In a heartbreaking incident, a visually impaired elderly couple was found living with the decomposing body of their son for four days in Nagole, Hyderabad, on October 28, 2024.
The couple, identified as Ramana (65) and Shanta Kumari (60), was rescued by the Nagole police on Monday after neighbours alerted authorities about a foul smell emanating from their home in Blinds Colony.

According to the police, the couple’s son, Pramod (30), is suspected to have died due to alcohol-related illness. The elderly couple, unaware of their son’s demise, continued to live with his body, calling out for food and water.
The police arrived at the scene and found the couple in a semi-conscious state. They were immediately provided with medical attention, food, and water. The couple’s elder son was informed, and they were entrusted to his care.
The deceased’s body was shifted to a hospital for post-mortem examination, and a case has been registered.
