Elderly couple found murdered in Kothaguda Village

Ranga Reddy: An elderly couple was brutally murdered on the night of October 15, 2024 at Kothaguda Village in Kandukur Mandal of Ranga Reddy district.

The victims have been identified as Ushaiah (70) and Shantamma (65), were residents of Nagarkurnool district and had been working at a nearby farmhouse for the past two years.

According to police reports, the couple was attacked by unidentified assailants, resulting in their deaths on the spot. The farmhouse, covering an area of eight acres, is owned by Manohar, who spoke to the couple at approximately 5 p.m. the day prior. When Manohar attempted to contact them the following morning and received no response, he sent acquaintances to check on them. Their bodies were subsequently discovered, prompting immediate notification to police department.

Police officials stated, “Based on the evidence at the scene, this does not appear to be a robbery or motivated by financial gain. It resembles a case of past grudges.” Investigators have already dispatched four teams to Nagarkurnool and are pursuing technical leads in the case. The police confirmed that this was not an accidental murder.

The couple leaves behind five children, including one son and four daughters. A case has been registered by the Kandukur police, and investigations are ongoing.
