Telangana Medical Council files cases against 10 fake doctors
Hyderabad: Cracking its whip against quackery, the Telangana State Medical Council (TGMC) has filed cases against 10 quacks in the state last month,who are not qualified to practise medicine.
These cases have been filed across various police stations under sections 34 and 54 of the NMC Act.
“Telangana Medical Council officials who conducted inspections in Hyderabad metropolis last month identified 8 fake doctors and registered cases under sections 34,54 of the NMC Act. The officials identified and collected evidence that the fake doctors had set up boards called RMP/PMP and were giving antibiotics and steroids to innocent patients who came to them that were not medically necessary,” TGMC said in a press release.
Out of 10 fake doctors, against whom the cases have been registered by the medical council belong to Vikarabad district. The quacks have been identified as Sri Sai Clinic (Vaidyam Ramesh), Sri Ambika Hospital (K Sridhar) under Nawabpet Police Station, Sri Venkateswara Clinic, Indira Nagar (LVR Reddy) under Kukatpally police station, Sharani First Aid Center, Hanuman Nagar, Moula Ali (Bisa Venkateswarlu), Sri Krupa First Aid Center – G Bhagya Rekha under Malkajgiri police station limits, DSR Health Care polyclinic, Diagnostic Center, Dr AS Rao Nagar, (Srikanth) and Azam Plus Clinic Counseling Center, (Hakeempet Mohammad Azam Hussain and Mohammad Ashfaq Hussain) under Neredmet police station.
According to TGMC vice chairman, Dr G Srinivas, RMPs/PMPs are not real doctors and do not have any educational qualifications to practice real medicine. They were found to be running clinics under the names of RMP/PMP.
During inspections, the officials also found the fake doctors administering unscientific and unnecessary antibiotics and steroid medications to unsuspecting patients, he added.
The TGMC officials have also filed cases against Sri Maruti Clinic, Champapet (Srinivasa Chari), Sai Akshita and Akshaya Clinic, Champapet (Barton Rashid), Sai Chaitanya First Aid Centre, Srinivasa Nagar Colony, D Rambabu under Saroornagar police station limits.
