EC to take action against KTR and PM Modi for MCC violations
Telangana Chief Electoral Officer directs the Commissioner GHMC and District election officer to take action regarding the two complaints filed against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and K Tarakarama Rao, BRS Working president by G Niranjan, AICC member and senior Vice president, Telangana Pradesh congress committee.
In his complaint on 10 May, G Niranjan, AICC member and senior vice president and chairman, Election coordination committee, Telangana Pradesh congress committee said, ”
Action should be taken against Prime Minister Narendra Modi as he breached the EC directions by stopping his car at Laxmipuram on his way to the Election meeting at Warangal, calling a child and her mother to his car and taking the child to his arms for publicity and to influence the voters”
The complaint against Prime Minister Modi further added, “Even though the election commission has issued orders clearly stating that children should not be involved in the election campaign. PM Modi is violating the model code of conduct in every election meeting. Everyday these violations by the Prime Minister were brought to the attention of the Election Commission, but it is being ignored”.
In another complaint ECI forwarded to the CEO, who further forwarded to DEOs, G Niranjan alleged, “Rahul Gandhi has released the Congress ‘Nyay Patra’ on April 6 at Thukkuguda, Hyderabad, and explained various programmes of the Congress party and its intention to take up a census of various sections of the people and assured to give them benefits in accordance with their share in the population. The BJP has fabricated a false video of Rahul Gandhi’s speech and is propagating it as the Congress party planning to loot the wealth from the people and intending to give it to Muslims.”
In another memo issued by the Office of the chief electoral officer, Telangana on 15th May directed the commissioner GHMC and District election officer Hyderabad to take necessary action as per the ECI instruction/guidelines.
Although the name of Narendra Modi or Prime minister nor BJP was cited but termed as ‘certain complaints’ which were filed by G Niranjan indirectly referring to the violation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP.
Complaint against KTR
Niranjan also filed a complaint against BRS leader K T Rama Rao for violation on poll day. In his complaint Niranjan said, “KTR exercised his vote at a polling station in Nandi Hills, Jubilee Hills in Secunderabad parliament. While speaking to the media K T Rama Rao said he voted for the party that brought Telangana and also for the leader who brought the Telangana and called upon everyone to vote similarly.”
The complaint further added this is against the election code and also against maintaining the secrecy of voting. And urged the election commission to declare his vote as void.
In the memo issued by the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer,Telanagana on 15th May read “ Regarding the complaint against K Tarakarama Rao, working president BRS forwarded to the commissioner GHMC and District election officer Hyderabad and requested to take further necessary action as per the ECI guidelines/instructions in the matter.”
