Data reveals, 16 cases filed on Eatala after he left BRS from 2021 to 2023

Hyderabad: The newly elected Bharatiya Janata Party(BJP) Member of Parliament (MP), Eatala Rajender has turned out to be the MP with the highest number of criminal cases against him in the state. He has the highest criminal cases booked against him with 54 cases. The data was revealed by a Hyderabad based think tank, Forum for Good Governance(FGG) on Saturday, following the analysis of the affidavit documents submitted by the candidates to the Election Commission(EC).
It is pertinent to note that most of the cases quickly piled up on Eatala Rajender were after he left the Bharat Rashtra Samithi(BRS) party. Rajender left BRS in June, 2021 and later joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). In the meantime from 2021 to 2023, when the BRS was in power, Sixteen cases were booked on Eatala Rajender for various violations including spreading fake news, COVID-19 protocol violations and other election code violations as per the independent analysis of his affidavit by the Hyderabad Mail.
And incidentally, there are no major cases on him, while he was serving as minister in the BRS government in the past. And other cases on Eatal were filed during the Telangana formation movement. Cases such as damaging public property, including the damage of Road transport Corporation(RTC) buses, stoppage of trains, as a part of the separate statehood movement.
Other MPs and their cases
Of the seventeen newly elected Members of Parliament in the Telangana state, 14 of them have criminal cases against them.
When it comes to the Greater Hyderabad zone, while the Malkajgiri MP Eatala has the highest number of criminal cases, Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi has five criminal cases against him, Chevella MP and BJP leader, Konda Vishweshwar Reddy has four criminal cases against him and the Secunderabad MP G Kishan Reddy has zero.
As per the analysis given by the Forum for Good Governance(FGG), while Eatala tops the criminal cases, he is closely followed by his fellow MPs from the same party, BJP. Bandi Sanjay who won from Karimnagar has 42 cases against him, and, Raghunandan Rao, who won from Medak has 29 cases and another BJP leader, Arvind Dharmapuri from Nizamabad has 22 cases against him.
Along with the Secunderabad MP G Kishan Reddy with zero criminal cases, two other debutants both from Indian National congress, Kadiyam Kavya from Warangal and Vamsi Kirshna Gaddam from Peddapalle also have zero cases against them.
