Driver arrested for dragging traffic constable in Punjagutta

Punjagutta: A driver was arrested after he dragged a traffic constable near Nagarjuna Circle in Punjagutta while attempting to flee a routine tinted windows check. The incident, which took place a few days ago, was brought to light after CCTV footage of the incident went viral.
According to police reports, the Punjagutta traffic police were conducting a special drive when a speeding car approached. Traffic Constable Ramesh attempted to stop the vehicle for a black film check. However, the driver, identified as Syed, refused to stop and accelerated, dragging the officer along with the vehicle.
Ramesh was injured in the process and was immediately rushed to the hospital for medical treatment. The driver, Syed, fled the scene after the incident.
Based on a complaint, Punjagutta police registered a case and began an investigation. The CCTV footage, which surfaced later, played an important role in identifying and arresting Syed.
Punjagutta police confirmed the arrest to Hyderabad Mail, stating that Syed had been charged with dragging the traffic constable and attempting to flee a police check.
