ICAR-IIRR scientist Dr Satendra Kumar Mangrauthia honoured with Rashtriya Vigyan Puraskar 2025

HYDERABAD: Dr Satendra Kumar Mangrauthia, Principal Scientist at the ICAR–Indian Institute of Rice Research (IIRR), Hyderabad, has been conferred the Rashtriya Vigyan Puraskar (RVP) 2025 under the Vigyan Yuva – Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar category by the Government of India.
Award highlights contributions to climate-resilient and high-yielding rice varieties
The national award acknowledges Dr Mangrauthia’s outstanding contributions to agricultural biotechnology, molecular biology, plant stress physiology, and genome editing. His research has significantly advanced innovation and scientific understanding in rice improvement.
Through his leadership and pioneering work, Dr Mangrauthia has contributed to developing climate-resilient and high-yielding rice varieties, strengthening India’s efforts towards food and nutritional security. His dedication to scientific excellence and farmers’ welfare continues to inspire young researchers across the country.
The ICAR–IIRR stated that it takes immense pride in Dr Mangrauthia’s achievement, describing it as a moment of great honour for the institute and the Indian Council of Agricultural Research fraternity.
