Doctor dies, colleague critically injured in Hyderabad car collision

Hyderabad: A doctor was killed and another critically injured in a car accident late Friday night, January 31, 2029, near Khanapur, under the Narsingi Police Station limits.

The deceased has been identified as Dr. Jaswanth, a house surgeon at Kamineni Hospital and a resident of Bachupally, died at the scene. Dr. Bhumika, also a house surgeon at Kamineni Hospital and a resident of LB Nagar, suffered severe injuries and was rushed to the hospital in critical condition.

According to the reports, the accident occurred when the car, reportedly speeding, struck a divider. It was learned that the two doctors were returning from a function in Janwada at the time.

Upon learning about the incident, police rushed to the spot and initiated an investigation into the incident.

Earlier, on September 30, 2024, Dr. Nilay Reddy, a 29-year-old cornea and anterior segment fellow at LV Prasad Eye Hospital, tragically lost his life in a road accident in the early hours of the morning. The incident occurred near Himayath Sagar on the Outer Ring Road in Rajendranagar.

Dr. Nilay Reddy was driving his sedan towards Rajiv Gandhi International Airport when his vehicle collided with a road divider. The impact caused the car to veer off the road and crash into nearby bushes. The doctor succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

Local police authorities arrived promptly, and Dr. Reddy’s body was recovered from the bushes and shifted to Osmania General Hospital, where his death was confirmed. Preliminary investigations suggest that Dr. Reddy was traveling at approximately 140 kilometers per hour in an area with a speed limit of 120 kilometers per hour.

On September 21, 2024, a woman was killed after being struck and run over by a lorry while crossing the road in Medchal. The incident occurred as she attempted to cross towards the Outer Ring Road. The victim, identified as 32-year-old Raga Jyothi, suffered severe injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

In a separate incident on September 18, 2024, a woman was tragically killed while returning home after dropping her children off at school. The victim, identified as Neeta, a resident of Nacharam, was struck by a lorry loaded with gas cylinders after a school bus left without stopping. Neeta was on her scooter, returning home after leaving her daughter at Johnson Grammar School.
