While the driver dreamed, diesel disappeared on Kodad–Hyderabad highway

HYDERABAD: Unidentified miscreants allegedly stole around 350 litres of diesel from a parked lorry while its driver slept near Durga Hotel on the Kodad–Hyderabad National Highway.
According to the complaint, the driver parked the lorry along the highway for the night. During that time, the thieves allegedly broke open the vehicle’s diesel tank with iron rods and siphoned off around 350 litres of fuel.
The driver also claimed that the suspects loaded the stolen diesel into a car bearing registration number AP30A1377 before fleeing the spot.
The driver later filed a complaint at the Chityal Police Station. Police registered a case and launched an investigation to identify the suspects and recover the stolen diesel.
Lorry drivers demand stronger night patrols
Following the incident, lorry drivers urged police to increase night patrols along the national highway. They said diesel thefts have become more frequent, causing heavy financial losses and raising safety concerns for transport operators.
