Ganja Hidden Behind God Photo Frames In Dhoolpet; 21 Kg Seized In Stf Raids

Hyderabad: Despite ongoing enforcement efforts, ganja smuggling persists in Hyderabad city. In recent raids conducted by the State Task Force (STF) of the Excise Department, over 23 kg of ganja was seized across three separate cases.

As part of the “Dhoolpet Operation,” the STF team led by Nandyala Anjireddy conducted raids at two locations based on intelligence inputs. The team seized a total of 21.334 kg of ganja.

In Indira Nagar, 10.934 kg of ganja was recovered from the residence of Rohan Singh, who had concealed the contraband behind deity portraits in his prayer room. Rohan Singh and Yashwant Singh were arrested. Cases have also been registered against Swapna Mandal and Raja Veer Bhakri from Odisha, and Rohith from Hyderabad.

In a separate raid in Shivalal Nagar, Dhoolpet, 10.4 kg of ganja was seized from Sankir Singh, Sushil Singh, Sarita, and Swapna Mandal alias Meena Bhai (Odisha). All four were arrested. A case was also filed against Rajaveer Barik, who is currently absconding.

In another operation at Balaram Galli, Dhoolpet, 2.186 kg of ganja was seized from Pawan Singh’s residence. Cases were registered against Durga Bhavani, Kaushik Singh, Shweta Boy, Akhilesh, Pawan Singh, and Mano Singh. Four were arrested; two are absconding. The total estimated value of ganja seized in all three cases is around Rs. 10.75 lakh.

 2,186 kg of Black Jaggery Seized in Mahabubabad

In a separate operation in Mahabubabad district, local excise officials seized 2,186 kg of black jaggery, which is suspected to be used in illicit liquor production.

In Achampet, 1,550 kg of black jaggery and 43 litres of country liquor were recovered. In another case, STF B team SI Balaraju and his staff seized 612 kg of jaggery and 20 kg of ginger being transported in a private vehicle near Nadim Palli. Two vehicles were seized and two persons, Kusuma Shetty and Raju, were arrested in connection with the cases.
