Dhar Gang terrorises Hyderabad’s outskirts
Hyderabad: The notorious Dhar Gang, responsible for a string of burglaries, is on the prowl on the outskirts of Hyderabad.
The gang, known for their lightning-fast raids and violent tactics, had terrorized the neighborhoods of Hayat Nagar, Vanasthalipuram, RC Puram, and Ameenpur for weeks.

Captured on CCTV, the gang’s faces masked and identities concealed, they broke into homes between midnight and 4 am, stealing valuables and leaving chaos in their wake. The Rachakonda police alerted to the gang’s activities, intensified their efforts to catch the elusive criminals, increased night patrols, and issued advisories to residents.
Dhar Gang’s Origins and Network
The Dhar Gang, originating from the Dhar district of Madhya Pradesh, had scattered across various Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh districts, forming a network adept at evading law enforcement.
The region of Dhar is notorious for illegal arms manufacturing and smuggling, contributing to the gang’s arsenal and tactics.
The gang would arrive in small groups, conducting recces of target houses while hiding in nearby jungles during the day. They used shared auto-rickshaws to move inconspicuously, avoiding main gates by scaling compound walls. Their violent tendencies were evident as they often attacked homeowners who resisted their break-ins.
