Telangana DGP Forms Panel on SI Seniority Dispute
HYDERABAD: Director-General of Police C.V. Anand has formed a six-member committee to examine complaints raised by 1991 batch sub-inspectors over statewide seniority, inspector vacancy adjustments and objections filed by additional superintendents of police.
The Inspector General of Police (Personnel) will head the committee. Its members include a Deputy Inspector General of Police, a Deputy Commissioner of Police, the Chief Administrative Officer and an Officer on Special Duty.
The committee will review grievances related to the integrated statewide seniority list of inspectors of police (Civil). It will also examine the adjustment of omitted inspector vacancies in the erstwhile Warangal Range.
The complaints came from 1991 batch sub-inspectors (Civil) who now serve as additional superintendents of police and non-cadre Indian Police Service (IPS) officers.
According to the officers, the government corrected anomalies by adjusting omitted inspector vacancies in the erstwhile Warangal Range. They have objected to these changes in the rectified integrated statewide seniority list of inspectors of police (Civil), which the Home Department issued through Government Order (GO) Ms. No. 153 on October 5, 2018.
Meanwhile, the DGP issued orders on June 29 directing the committee to examine the matter and submit its report. The police department will take further action based on the committee’s findings.
