Devi Sri Prasad’s concert at Gachibowli Stadium bypasses CM Revanth Reddy’s orders
Hyderabad: The Sports Authority of Telangana has faced criticism for granting permission for a musical concert by a popular music director Devi Sri Prasad at the Ganti Mohana Chandra Balayogi Athletic Stadium, formerly known as Gachibowli Athletic Stadium, despite recent orders from Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy. The event is scheduled for October 19, 2024.
Concerns have been raised by sports enthusiasts regarding the extensive preparations for the concert, including a large set being constructed on the athletic track and significant pits being dug for the stage. Many worry that such non-sporting events may hinder athletes’ performance and the overall integrity of the stadium, which recently underwent repairs costing Rs. 20 crores.
Chief Minister Revanth Reddy had previously announced that stadiums would no longer host non-sporting events, highlighting the importance of maintaining these venues for athletic purposes. Despite this, the Sports Authority of Telangana has not reversed its decision regarding the concert.
