Devarakadra bus crash kills DCM driver
Telangana: A driver was killed after a Delhi Coach Manufacturing (DCM) goods vehicle collided head-on with a private Volvo travel bus on National Highway 167 near Devarakadra on Sunday.
DCM cabin crushed in collision
According to Sub-Inspector Bhaskar Reddy, the private travel bus was on its way from Mangaluru to Hyderabad, while the DCM vehicle was travelling from Hyderabad to Raichur. The two vehicles collided head-on.
The DCM cabin was crushed in the impact, trapping driver Mahender, 35, a native of Madhya Pradesh. He died on the spot. Assistant driver Tiwari sustained serious injuries, while bus driver Ashok was also injured.
All 33 bus passengers escape safely
Police said all 33 passengers travelling on the bus were safe. A case has been registered, and an investigation is under way, the Sub-Inspector said.
