Devara Pre-Release Event Cancelled: Jr NTR & Janhvi React

Hyderabad: Jr NTR and Janhvi Kapoor, the leading actors of the upcoming pan-India film ‘Devara: Part 1’ have reacted to the cancellation of the grand pre-release event in Hyderabad on Sunday evening.

Sharing a video message, Bollywood actress Janhvi Kapoor, who is making her Tollywood debut with this movie, thanked the Telugu audience for giving her a warm welcome in Tollywood. She also expressed her gratitude to the fans of Jr NTR for calling her with the nickname, “Jaanu papa”. The young actress also acknowledged the love of fans towards her mother and popular actress of yesteryears Sridevi

“Devara is my first step (in Tollywood) and I will try to live up to the expectations of the audience. I would also like to thank Jr NTR sir and director Koratala Siva for choosing me for the leading role in the movie,” Janhvi Kapoor said in her video message.

Earlier, Jr NTR acknowledged the overwhelming response to the pre-release event and also expressed his regret over its cancellation at the last minute. The ‘Devara’ team posted the actor’s message and captioned it, “We regret being in this situation but are forever grateful to our beloved Man of Masses NTR’s fans. The biggest celebration awaits. See you in theatres on Sept 27th. #Devara #DevaraOnSep27th”

The organizers were forced to cancel the grand pre-release event of ‘Devara’ after a large number of fans turned up at the venue. Anticipating rains, makers had organized an indoor event at Novotel in Hyderabad. Due to overwhelming response from the fans which exceeded the capacity of the venue and the ensuing chaos, the organizers cancelled the event. Legendary Tollywood directors SS Rajamouli, Prashanth Neel and Trivikram were expected to grace the indoor event.

Koratala Siva’s directorial ‘Devara’ is scheduled for global release on September 27. The film marks Janhvi Kapoor’s debut in the Telugu industry while Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan will be seen in a key role in the upcoming movie.

The Jr NTR and Janhvi Kapoor’s Devara has set a milestone in terms of pre-release bookings. The film has been recorded as the fastest movie as it sold more than 50,000 tickets for its premiere shows earning over Rs.12 crore in a span of just eight days in the US. The pre-release buzz has raised expectations from Tollywood fans.
