Devara: Part 1 releases to mass celebrations

Hyderabad: The highly anticipated Indian Telugu-language action film Devara, written and directed by Koratala Siva, was released in theaters on September 27, 2024, sparking excitement among fans. Starring Jr. N. T. Rama Rao in dual roles, alongside Saif Ali Khan and Janhvi Kapoor in their Telugu film debuts, Devara is already being hailed as a blockbuster.

Mass celebrations broke out at the Sudharshan 35MM theater in Hyderabad, where fans gathered to watch the film, calling it the “Devara Tsunami” across Telangana. The film’s release has made #ManOfMassesNTR a trending topic on the social media platform X.

One enthusiastic fan, Deepak Kumar (@Deepakk77971633), shared his excitement on X, stating, “Let’s begin the #DevaraCelebrations now! #JrNTR has created history with this blockbuster. If you haven’t experienced it yet, just go and watch it!” He further expressed his awe after watching the film, declaring it a visual and action-packed spectacle, comparing it to other South Indian hits like Baahubali. He said, “Can’t wait to see it again! #DevaraJatharaaBegins.”

Another user, Robin Robert (@PeaceBrwVJ), remarked, “After so many years and full of positive reviews, #Devera is a blockbuster.”

The film also captivated audiences with its music, particularly the song “Chuttamalle,” which prompted one viewer, @VillanTweets, to describe the theater atmosphere as transforming into a concert, praising Anirudh Ravichander’s musical prowess.

Devara, produced by Yuvasudha Arts and N. T. R. Arts, follows the story of a fearless man from the coast who embarks on a sea journey to protect his people while dealing with conspiracies from his brother, Bhaira. The legacy of this hero is entrusted to his timid son, Varada.

The film was officially announced in April 2021 under the tentative title NTR30, marking Rama Rao’s 30th lead role. The title was finalised in May 2023, and in late 2023, it was decided to split the film into two parts. Principal photography for this installment commenced in April 2023 and concluded in August 2024, with filming locations including Hyderabad, Shamshabad, Visakhapatnam, Goa, and Thailand. The film features music composed by Anirudh Ravichander, with cinematography by R. Rathnavelu and editing by A. Sreekar Prasad.

Devara: Part 1 is set to make a significant impact on the South Indian film industry as fans continue to celebrate.
