Delhi court dismisses CBI cases against K. Kavitha in liquor policy probe
TELANGANA: In a major relief in the Delhi liquor policy case, a special court at Rouse Avenue dismissed the cases registered by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) against Bharat Rashtra Samithi leader K. Kavitha and other accused, including her auditor Buchi Babu.
The court also quashed the case filed by the CBI against Aam Aadmi Party leaders Manish Sisodia and Arvind Kejriwal, along with all other accused in the matter.
The special judge delivered the verdict after hearing detailed arguments from both sides.
Court flags serious lapses in probe
In its order, the court criticised the manner in which the case was registered and investigated. It observed serious lapses in procedure and faulted the agency’s approach in both the registration of the case and the conduct of the probe.
Holding that the investigation suffered from procedural irregularities, the court dismissed the charges against all the accused.
