Hyderabad: A dead body was found in a gunny bag at Mailardevpally on Tuesday morning, December 24, 2024, causing concern among local residents.

According to the reports, GHMC workers discovered the body in a drainage canal and immediately informed the Mailardevpally police. The workers also notified the traffic police, who alerted other law enforcement agencies.

Speaking with the Hyderabad Mail, authorities confirmed the discovery and said the process of identifying the victim is underway. Police suspect the man was killed elsewhere and his body dumped at the location. The clues team is assisting with the investigation, which is ongoing.

In a separate case, a 17-year-old girl from Miyapur was murdered by her alleged boyfriend on November 2. The girl, who met him on Instagram, had reportedly married him just days before her tragic death. Her body was found on the roadside along the Srisailam Highway on Monday.

Three individuals, identified as Pollola Vigenesh, Rasamallu Saketh, and Rasamallu Nandini, have been arrested in connection with the murder. The girl had gone missing on November 8, 2024, and her parents had filed a missing person’s report. During the investigation, police identified the suspects, who later confessed to the crime.

According to the Miyapur police, Vigenesh met the girl at a temple in Falaknuma through Instagram five months ago. The two formed a relationship, and the girl eventually moved in with him in Sridatta Nagar, Kanchanbagh. Tensions began to rise when the girl spoke to other men on the phone, leading to arguments. She threatened to harm herself if Vigenesh did not marry her.

Police said Vigenesh, with the help of Saketh and Nandini, planned to kill the girl. On November 8, 2024, they married her, thinking it would make the crime less suspicious. That evening, when Saketh went to work and Nandini went shopping, Vigenesh attacked the girl. He hit her head against a wall, strangled her with a saree, and killed her.

Afterward, Vigenesh informed Nandini of the murder, and she contacted Saketh. Saketh advised Vigenesh to inform the girl’s mother, but Vigenesh refused, fearing legal consequences due to his past offenses.
To avoid being caught, Vigenesh sought help from Saketh and Nandini to dispose of the body. The three of them transported the body on Vigenesh’s scooter to the Outer Ring Road in Tukkuguda. They dumped the remains near the Srisailam Highway, covering the body with waste papers, and returned home, said police.
