Cable operators stir: Dasoju Sravan extends support

Hyderabad: Cable operators staged a protest at Indira Park demanding protection of their livelihood. BRS MLC Dasoju Sravan joined the demonstration and expressed solidarity with the operators. He demanded that the ongoing actions against them be stopped immediately, stressing that families dependent on cable operations were being pushed into uncertainty.
Sravan said the government must ensure proper alternatives for the welfare of operators’ families. He urged officials to conduct urgent checks on electric poles to confirm safety of connections, noting that unsafe conditions could endanger lives. He objected to the practice of removing cables suddenly without prior notice, calling it unconstitutional and unfair to those whose livelihood depends on the service.
Call for transparent policy
Sravan alleged that government decisions were benefitting large corporate companies at the cost of poor and middle-class families. He warned that weakening the operators’ livelihood would amount to a violation of people’s rights.
“Lakhs of poor and middle-class families depend on this work. If attempts to erode their livelihood continue, it will be a direct assault on public rights. BRS will fight until the last day to protect operators and their families,” he said.
He demanded the government announce a special policy to safeguard cable operators’ livelihood and ensure transparency in procedures. Sravan reiterated that constitutional rights and welfare of ordinary families should remain the priority.
