Dasara celebrated with religious fervour in Hyderabad

Dasara or Vijayadashami festival was celebrated with religious devotion in Hyderabad. The devotees spent the day with poojas performing for their vehicles, equipment and tools.
The city was in a festive atmosphere for the last nine days of Navratri and Bathukamma. All the temples were decked up for the spectacular Navratri celebrations.
During this period, devotees, especially women, were seen visiting temples such as Sri Simhavahi Mahankali temple in Lal Darwaza, Sri Peddamma temple in Jubilee Hills, Sri Katta Maisamma temple in Begumpet and Sri Yellama temple in Balkampet to offer special prayers. Vijayadashami marks the conclusion of nine-day long festivities.
Due to the presence of a large number of Bengali communities, several pandals with idols of Goddess Durga were set up across the city. Many young devotees thronged these pandals and worshiped there.
Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy celebrated Dasara in his hometown, Nagarkurnool district. The chief minister offered prayers at a temple in Kondareddypalli and later laid foundation stones for several infrastructure projects.
