Danam Nagender says he remains in Congress

HYDERABAD: Danam Nagender, MLA from Khairatabad, on Thursday said he was not afraid of anyone and asserted that he continues to be with the Indian National Congress.
Says direct talk is his brand image
Speaking to reporters, Danam said he speaks directly on any issue and does not fear anyone. “I can say with confidence that I am in the Congress. That is my brand image,” he said.
He said he would work for the Congress’s victory in the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation elections and described the ward delimitation exercise as scientific. The government’s decisions, he said, were aimed at keeping Hyderabad at the top nationally.
Backs government decisions on city works
Danam said his suggestions were considered by HYDRAA and added that action was not being taken against houses of the poor and the middle class. Referring to infrastructure plans, he said the government had taken a key decision to lay cables underground to avoid visible pillars.
He welcomed Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s focus on Hyderabad’s development, including a ₹4,000-crore allocation for underground cabling, which he said would change the city’s landscape. He also welcomed the decision to supply drinking water daily in Hyderabad from January.
Confidence ahead of GHMC polls
Danam said he would campaign across Greater Hyderabad to publicise the Congress government’s schemes and expressed confidence that the party would win in 300 divisions in the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation elections.
Asked about allegations of defections involving other MLAs, Danam said he was not aware of the matter.
