MLA Danam Nagender booked for Illegal demolition of GHMC compound wall in Jubilee hills

Jubilee hills: Khairatabad legislator Danam Nagender was booked by the Jubilee Hills police of Hyderabad commissionerate for allegedly trespassing and aiding a group to demolish a compound wall in Nandagiri Hills.

According to the complaint from V.Papaiah of Enforcement Department, unidentified persons allegedly demolished the erected compound wall, which is illegal and situated at Nandagiri Hills, Jubilee Hills. Further, the compound wall is part of layout open space which is government land (GHMC part).

On 10, August, at around 10.30 a.m., residents from the nearby Guru Brahma Nagar illegally trespassed and demolished the erected compound wall in the presence of MLA Khairatabad, Danam Nagender, who has also witnessed the above action by provoking Gopal Naik and Ramchander.

“The wall was on government land managed by the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC). The damage is estimated to be around 10 lakh,” said the officer in his complaint.

Based on the complaint Jubilee hills police booked a case under sections 189(3)(unlawful assembly), 329(3)(Criminal trespass and house-trespass), 324(4)(Whoever commits mischief) 0f Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita(BNS) and relevant section of prevention of damage to public propertyPDPP Act.

Khairatabad legislator Danam Nagende who won from BRS shifted loyalties after congress came to power. Danam Nagender announced their resignation from the party on March 17 and joined the ruling Congress. Earlier MLA Danam Nagender had contested in 2014 from the Congress and lost to the BRS. Later he joined the BRS and was elected as an MLA twice, in 2018 and 2023.
