Hyderabad police nabs seven member dacoity gang for robbing students at knife point

Charminar : A seven member dacoity gang who robbed four students at knife point were arrested by the Humayun Nagar police of Hyderabad Commissionerate on Sunday. The police have recovered a knife used in the commission of offense.

The arrested dacoity gang members were identified as Mohd Aijaz Qureshi, Sahel Fardeen Khan, Nerati Prashanth, Kollapuri Sai, Peyyala Rajashekar, Mohd Khaleel, and Gimka Abhilash Mohan.The police also took a boy juvenile who is in conflict with law and shifted him to Observation Home for Boys at Saidabad in Hyderabad.

According to the Humayun Nagar police, the suspects gathered near Medplus Medical Hall, P.S. Nagar, Vijaya Nagar Colony and stopped the complainant M. Srimanth Kumar`s Car when he was going towards Asifnagar along with his four friends in the car and at knife point robbed them of two cell phones, gold ornaments and ran away from the spot.

After receiving the complaint from the victim, Humayun nagar police formed special teams and nabbed seven offenders who were involved in the case in the limits of Humayun Nagar Police Station, Hyderabad commissionerate under the guidance of G. Chandra Mohan DCP, South West Zone.

What is the modus operandi?

Explaining the modus operandi of the accused G. Chandra Mohan DCP, South West Zone, Hyderabad said, “The Accused Persons with an intention to commit offences, gathered at P.S. Nagar robbed the complainant and his friends who were coming in a car to have some food at Asifnagar. They took two cell phones, a gold chain and one gold ring from the complainant and another person.”

The police have recovered one Apple I-Phone and one gold chain which were robbed from the victims. And further police seized a knife length 32 cm with black grip, from the possession of Mohd Aijaz Qureshi.All the accused were sent to judicial custody and further investigation is underway.
