Hyderabad: Cybercrime police arrest Youtuber for uploading disturbing videos

Hyderabad: YouTuber Dasari Vigyan was arrested on Monday, October 7, 2024, by cybercrime police for uploading videos containing disturbing images, videos on his channel.
According to the reports, Dasari Vigyan is facing six separate cases registered against him by the cybercrime unit. Vigyan is also alleged to have assisted Harsha Sai, who is currently under investigation.
Dasari Vigyan has been charged under Sections 72 BNS, 356 (1) BNS, and 67 of the IT Act 2008. In addition to these charges, he was arrested for allegedly spreading false information on social media and using abusive language against the victim in the ongoing Harsha Sai case.
Telangana High Court has strongly condemned the circulation of fabricated audio recordings targeting the victim in the rape case and has directed the government to take appropriate action against those responsible.
The cybercrime unit is actively working to blacklist channels that have promoted harmful content related to the victim. The cybercrime police have identified multiple cases against Vigyan, including charges of cheating, theft, and a fraudulent scheme amounting to Rs 4 lakh in the name of a food business, as well as the theft of cameras under the guise of making a film.
Meanwhile, the YouTube channel Mahidhar Vibes has received a government order to block discussions related to the victim. The channel risks being blacklisted if it attempts to upload such content again.
