Cyberabad police rescue six trafficking victims, book 66 in SHE Teams decoy drives

CYBERABAD: The Anti Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU) of conducted night raids during a week-long special drive from December 13 to 19, 2025, leading to the apprehension of six sex workers and 11 transgender persons.
During the operations, the AHTU rescued six victims and apprehended two accused in two cases registered under the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act (PITA), according to an official press note.
The Cyberabad SHE Teams conducted 137 decoy operations during the same period and caught 66 persons red-handed while indulging in indecent acts at public places. Petty cases were booked in 59 instances, while the remaining persons were counselled.
The SHE Teams also received 23 complaints from women victims through various modes and took up follow-up action as per protocol.
As part of their outreach, Family Counselling Centres and Centres for Development of Empowerment of Women (CDEW) helped reunite 22 families involved in marital disputes.
Officials said AHTU and SHE Teams carried out extensive preventive and awareness programmes across Cyberabad, with 7,229 participants. The sessions focused on human and child trafficking, eve-teasing, social media harassment, child marriages, child rights, child labour, stalking, begging, cyber bullying and cyber frauds. Information on women helpline 181, child helpline 1098, Dial 100 and the cybercrime helpline 1930 was also shared.
