Cyberabad police host Open House to educate students on policing & public safety

Cyberabad: In celebration of Police Commemoration Week, the Cyberabad Police held an Open House programme on October 25, 2024, at the Cyberabad Parade Grounds, aimed at educating students about policing and public safety. The event was inaugurated by DCP Srujana Karnam of the Women & Child Safety Wing (W&CSW) of Cyberabad.

During her address, DCP Srujana Karnam highlighted the importance of academic excellence while encouraging students to stay informed about societal issues and understand the role of police in maintaining safety and order. She stressed the necessity for students to familiarise themselves with police operations and the functions of a police station.

1,200 students attend event

The event attracted approximately 1,200 students from various schools, junior colleges, and NCC units across five zones within the Cyberabad Police Commissionerate.

A major highlight of the programme was the exhibition of various weapons, including light machine guns, advanced rifles, and bomb detection devices. Police personnel conducted demonstrations on the proper handling and usage of these weapons, offering students valuable practical insights.

The Bomb Disposal Team showcased their equipment, while sniffer dogs demonstrated their explosive detection capabilities. Additionally, a band drill was performed, and the Mounted Police showcased horse-riding demonstrations, further enhancing the interactive experience for students.

This Open House provided a unique opportunity for students to engage with law enforcement officials, deepening their understanding of policing and raising awareness of public safety measures. The event highlighted the significance of community-police engagement, particularly in fostering connections with the younger generation.

The event featured the active participation of several officials, including CAR Headquarters ADCP Shameer, W&CSW ACP Prasanna Kumar, CSW ACP Naga Sai, CAR ACP Arun Kumar, ACP (Home Guards) Indravardhan, W&CSW Inspector Sunitha, Anti-Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU) Inspector James Babu, Bharosa Inspector Prathap Lingam, RI (Admin) Hanmi Reddy, RI (Special Party) Veera Reddy, Bomb Disposal Team RI Ganesh, RI Krishna, and MTO II Veeralingam.
