Cyberabad Police Coordinating Monsoon Preparedness

HYDERABAD: Ahead of the monsoon season, Cyberabad Police have launched a detailed preparedness plan. The plan aims to reduce waterlogging, ease traffic congestion and improve commuter safety. It focuses on the IT corridor.

The drive targets high-traffic areas such as Madhapur, Hitec City and Kukatpally. These zones face heavy congestion during peak office hours, especially in rain.

IT firms asked to adopt flexible work models

Police are meeting IT companies and major private firms. They are asking them to allow work from home during heavy rain. They also suggest staggered office timings, carpooling and more use of public transport.

Kukatpally DCP Ritiraj said officials hold regular talks with IT firms in key traffic zones. He said past monsoons helped the police improve their plans this year.

Traffic load to be reduced during heavy rain

Officials said the plan focuses on cutting vehicle load during peak rain hours. They want fewer vehicles on the roads when rainfall is heavy.

Ritiraj said companies should adopt work-from-home options and flexible timings. He added that many firms have responded positively, and more support is expected this year.

He also said traffic jams during rain delay emergency response and increase risks for commuters.

Weather alerts shared with companies

Police are sending regular weather updates to corporate offices. This helps companies plan work hours in advance.

Ritiraj said these alerts help firms warn employees early. He added that this reduces the chance of people getting stuck during sudden downpours.

Joint inspections in flood-prone areas

Municipal officials and M Ramesh have inspected several flood-prone areas in the commissionerate limits. They checked drainage systems and waterlogging hotspots.

Authorities have ordered departments to speed up desilting work. They also asked them to clear drainage channels and finish key upgrades before heavy rains begin.
