Cyberabad police destroy 2,380 kg of narcotic drugs in Rangareddy district

Hyderabad: The Telangana State Anti-Narcotics Bureau (TGNAB), under the leadership of Director Sandeep Shandilya, and the supervision of Cyberabad Commissioner of Police (CP) Avinash Mohanty, successfully destroyed 2,380 kg of narcotic substances on November 12, 2024.

The destruction took place at the GJ Multiclave (India) Pvt. Ltd. facility, a Common Bio-Medical Waste Treatment and Disposal Facility located in Edulapally Village, Nandigama Mandal, Rangareddy District.

The drugs, seized in connection with 155 cases registered under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, were disposed of in a safe and environmentally responsible manner. These cases were spread across five zones of the Cyberabad Police Commissionerate, Balanagar, Madhapur, Medchal, Rajendranagar, and Shamshabad involving a total of 31 police stations.

Among the drugs destroyed were 2,286.679 kg of ganja, 45.769 kg of ganja chocolates, 354 grams of ganja plants, and 132 grams of ganja powder. Other substances included 26.756 kg of charas, 87.518 grams of MDMA, 72.97 grams of cocaine, 1.64 kg of opium poppy, 10.010 kg of alprazolam, 8 liters and 298 milliliters of hashish oil, and 8 units of LSD blots.

The operation was conducted by the Drug Disposal Committee, chaired by DCP Crimes K. Narasimha, and included ACP Cyber Crimes Ravinder Reddy, CCRB ACP Kalinga Rao, Narcotics Addl DCP G. Narasimha Reddy, and their dedicated team.
