Cyberabad Police impose ban on gatherings in Jubilee Hills ahead of byelection

HYDERABAD: The Cyberabad Police have issued prohibitory orders restricting assembly of more than five persons in polling areas falling under the Jubilee Hills Assembly Constituency ahead of the byelection scheduled for November 11, 2025.
According to Commissioner of Police Avinash Mohanty, the restrictions are being imposed under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) to maintain law and order and ensure peaceful polling. The orders will be in force from 18.00 IST on November 9 to 18.00 IST on November 12 within the limits of Sanathnagar police station under the Cyberabad Police Commissionerate.
Ban on public meetings and unlawful gatherings
The notification prohibits public meetings, processions and any assembly of more than five people in the notified polling areas during the period. However, the order clarifies that door-to-door campaigning with not more than five persons is permitted.
Violators face prosecution
The public has been warned that violation of the prohibitory orders will attract prosecution under applicable laws.
