Cyberabad police oversee calm municipal elections

HYDERABAD: Polling in the municipal elections concluded peacefully across the Cyberabad Police Commissionerate limits on Wednesday.

Cyberabad Commissioner of Police Dr M Ramesh, Indian Police Service, reviewed security arrangements along with senior officers in different zones.

He first visited polling centres at Ravalkole Zilla Parishad High School and Ellampet Zilla Parishad High School in Ellampet municipality under Medchal police station limits in Quthbullapur zone.

Later, he inspected security at Lalagadi Malakpet Zilla Parishad High School and Aliabad Mandal Parishad Primary School polling centres in Aliabad municipality under Genome Valley police station limits.

In Serilingampally zone, he visited polling stations at Indresham Mandal Parishad Upper Primary School in Indresham municipality, Isnapur Zilla Parishad High School in Isnapur municipality and Chitkul Mandal Parishad Primary School under Patancheru police station limits.

The Commissioner interacted with police personnel on bandobast duty and directed them to remain alert and ensure there were no security lapses.

Speaking on the occasion, Ramesh said all measures were taken to ensure free and peaceful conduct of polling. “We have taken all steps to ensure elections are held in a completely peaceful atmosphere. People should exercise their franchise freely,” he said.

He added that strict security arrangements were in place to ensure the elections were conducted smoothly.
