387 booked for drunk driving in Cyberabad, Malkajgiri crackdown

Hyderabad Traffic Police conducting weekend drunk driving checks in the city

HYDERABAD: Cyberabad and Malkajgiri police booked 387 persons for drunk driving during a special enforcement drive conducted on Saturday night.

Police registered cases against drivers of two-wheelers, three-wheelers, four-wheelers and heavy vehicles. Several offenders recorded blood alcohol concentration (BAC) levels above 301 mg/100 ml, indicating severe intoxication.

Malkajgiri accounts for over half of total cases

The Malkajgiri traffic police caught 214 persons driving in an inebriated condition. Cases were registered against all offenders.

Among those booked were 187 two-wheeler riders, five three-wheeler drivers, 21 four-wheeler drivers and one heavy vehicle driver.

Ten individuals recorded BAC levels above 301 mg/100 ml, police said.

Cyberabad police book 173 offenders in parallel drive

In Cyberabad, police registered 173 drunk driving cases during the same operation.

Of those caught, 138 were two-wheeler riders, 10 were driving three-wheelers, 22 were four-wheelers and three were operating heavy vehicles.

Thirteen persons recorded BAC levels above 301 mg/100 ml.

Police said the enforcement drive was part of routine checks to curb drunken driving and ensure road safety.
