Cyberabad launches weekly bulky waste, temple offering collection drives
HYDERABAD: The Cyberabad Municipal Corporation has launched two new civic initiatives to improve waste management and keep public spaces clean across the city.
Weekly drive for bulky household waste
Starting this week, the corporation will deploy dedicated collection vehicles every Saturday in all municipal circles. Residents can hand over old furniture, mattresses, cots, cupboards and other bulky wooden household items during the drive.
This initiative will help residents dispose of large household waste safely. It will also reduce illegal dumping, as regular door-to-door garbage collection does not cover such items.
Temple offering collection drive
The corporation has also started a Divine Waste Collection Drive. Under this initiative, devotees can dispose of flowers, garlands, coconuts and other religious offerings in a respectful and eco-friendly manner.
For this purpose, the civic body will set up designated collection points at selected temples. As a result, temple surroundings will remain cleaner while devotional waste will be managed responsibly.
QR code registration from Thursday
The Cyberabad Municipal Corporation will release QR codes and detailed participation guidelines for both initiatives on Thursday.
The civic body has urged residents to register, take part in the drives and support the effort to build a cleaner, greener and more citizen-friendly Cyberabad.
