Why Cyberabad food inspectors flagged Platform 65, Zepto and other food outlets
HYDERABAD: Food Safety teams of the Cyberabad Commissionerate conducted inspections at four food business establishments on June 23, 2026, identifying hygiene and food safety violations at multiple locations and recommending regulatory action in some cases.
Platform 65 faces strict action after critical violations
Among the establishments inspected, Platform 65 at PNR Empire recorded the lowest hygiene score of 40 out of 110 (37%). Inspectors reported rats inside the premises, clogged drains, open dustbins, stale food stored in freezers, improperly maintained freezers, inadequately cleaned drains, uncovered food items and improper segregation of vegetarian and non-vegetarian food.
Based on the findings, the Food Safety team recommended suspension of the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) licence and directed the management to take immediate corrective measures.
Hotel SVM Grand issued improvement notice
At Hotel SVM Grand in Bachupally, inspectors found several deficiencies, including lidless dustbins, slippery kitchen floors, broken tiles, cockroach infestation, unlabelled food items in freezers, unhygienic food preparation areas and untidy vegetable storage trays.
The establishment scored 83 out of 116 marks (72%). Officials issued an Improvement Notice and directed the management to strengthen housekeeping, food labelling and hygiene practices.
Rameshwaram Cafe records high compliance score
Rameshwaram Cafe, near Image Gardens, scored 95 out of 102 marks (93%), the highest among the establishments inspected.
Inspectors observed food handlers using hairnets and aprons, proper date labelling of food materials, availability of medical fitness, pest control and water testing records, and implementation of Reuse Used Cooking Oil (RUCO) guidelines.
However, officials noted that butter was being thawed in water near a drain, creating a contamination risk. A drain in the grinding area was clogged with food particles, and some dustbins were left open. Directions were issued to follow proper First In First Out (FIFO) practices and strengthen sanitation measures.
Zepto facility inspected following citizen complaint
A food safety inspection was also conducted at a Zepto facility operated by Kiranakart Technologies Pvt. Ltd. in Devbhoomi Nagar, Gajularamaram Circle, following a citizen complaint regarding the alleged supply of expired milk products.

Inspectors found no expired food products during the visit. However, they observed an expired FSSAI licence copy on display, live cockroach infestation, rusted storage racks, poor housekeeping, inadequate spacing between racks and walls, greasy flooring and missing records related to medical fitness, pest control and cleaning schedules.
A leaking apple juice pack was found on sale shelves, while a chicken packet without a legible use-by date was discarded on the spot. The facility scored 48 out of 72 marks (68%). Officials recommended an Improvement Notice and directed the operator to improve hygiene, documentation and storage practices.
Food Safety officials said inspections would continue across Cyberabad to ensure compliance with prescribed food safety and hygiene standards and safeguard public health.
