Spoiled Food, Pest Infestation Found At Five Cyberabad Eateries During Food Safety Inspections

HYDERABAD: Food Safety teams of the Commissionerate of Municipal Corporation (CMC) inspected five food establishments across Cyberabad on July 4, 2026. The teams found several food safety and hygiene violations. They also discarded spoiled food at multiple outlets and recommended Improvement Notices for all five establishments.

Spoiled food found at two mandi restaurants

At Wah Mandi, opposite AMB Mall, officials found stale cooked mandi, boiled eggs and chicken wings. They discarded the spoiled food immediately.

Inspectors also found poor utensil washing facilities and no hot water sanitisation. The restaurant did not produce medical fitness certificates or water testing reports. In addition, staff stored raw and cooked meat together and failed to separate vegetarian and non-vegetarian food properly. The vegetable cutting area had flaking walls and ceilings.

However, the restaurant carried out regular pest control and maintained clean freezers with limited non-vegetarian stock. It received a hygiene score of 61 out of 100 (61%).

At Mandi King in Gachibowli, inspectors found raw and cooked non-vegetarian food stored together without proper covering. They also noticed a greasy exhaust system, limited kitchen workspace, rusted doors and heavy fly infestation.

Moreover, the restaurant had reused cooking oil for four days. Officials discarded the oil on the spot. They also found poor utensil washing facilities without hot water sanitisation.

Despite these violations, the restaurant carried out regular pest control and disposed of used cooking oil through an authorised vendor. It scored 56 out of 108 (52%).

Pest infestation and missing records at restaurants

At Fire Water Fine Dining in Phoenix Towers, inspectors found cockroach infestation in the store room and rat droppings in the premises. They also noticed rust inside a freezer, improperly stored raw chicken, open dustbins in the kitchen and missing medical fitness certificates for food handlers.

However, the restaurant followed hot water sanitisation for utensils and maintained a regular cleaning schedule. It scored 63 out of 102 (62%).

At Am Aha Restaurant in Infinity Mall, Madinaguda, officials found several food items without proper labels. These included prawns, salad and atta balls stored in the freezer.

The restaurant also failed to produce medical fitness certificates and water testing reports. Inspectors found unclean eggs kept for storage, raw chicken containers placed directly on the floor, worn-out chopping boards and dust in the store room.

On the positive side, food handlers maintained good personal hygiene, and inspectors found no visible pest infestation. The restaurant received 94 out of 110 (85%), the highest hygiene score among the five establishments.

Mouldy food discarded at vegetarian restaurant

At Kake Di Hatti Pure Veg Restaurant, also located in Infinity Mall, inspectors found several prepared food items without labels. They also found boiled vegetables stored uncovered on the floor near the washing area.

In addition, officials noticed open dustbins, greasy exhaust systems, food waste, stagnant water near drains, unlabelled raw materials and unclean utensil storage crates.

Inspectors found mould on cooked cauliflower and discarded it immediately along with other unlabelled prepared food items. The restaurant also failed to provide medical fitness, pest control and water testing records.

It received a hygiene score of 76 out of 106 (72%).

Improvement Notices recommended

Following the inspections, Food Safety officials recommended Improvement Notices for all five establishments. They directed the managements to fix the violations and improve hygiene and food safety standards.
