Cyberabad food audit flags top food chains
HYDERABAD: Cyberabad CMC Food Safety teams found hygiene and food safety violations at Burger King, KFC, Fire Water Neo Bar & Kitchen, Zepto and Alsaba Restaurant during inspections on July 9. Officials issued improvement notices to most outlets, while Alsaba Restaurant faces FSSAI licence suspension over serious violations.
Burger King, KFC score above 90%
Burger King in Puppalaguda scored 93% (106/114). Inspectors found good hygiene, valid pest control records, medical certificates and cooking oil quality checks. However, they noticed oil leakage, unclean storage crates and missing food testing records.
KFC in Manikonda scored 94% (108/116). The outlet maintained good hygiene standards. However, inspectors found water stagnation, foul odour and four packs of stale lettuce, which they discarded on the spot.
Fire Water Neo Bar, Zepto flagged
Fire Water Neo Bar & Kitchen in Nanakramguda scored 66% (71/108). Inspectors found unlabelled food, expired mushrooms, untested water, missing medical records and improper food storage. Officials discarded unsafe food and issued an improvement notice.
Zepto’s Narsingi outlet scored 50% (30/60). Inspectors found poor housekeeping, improper storage, food waste and an unclean facility. They directed the outlet to stop accepting orders until it completed cleaning and corrective measures.
Alsaba told to remain closed
Alsaba Restaurant in Gachibowli scored 46% (69/150), the lowest among the inspected outlets. Inspectors found improper meat storage, unhygienic washrooms, fly infestation, poor sanitation and missing health and water testing records.
Officials initiated action to suspend the restaurant’s FSSAI licence and directed it to remain closed until it fully complies with food safety standards.
The inspections were part of Cyberabad’s routine drive to improve hygiene and ensure compliance with food safety norms.
