Farmhouse property in Malkajgiri under Cyberabad Police regulation

HYDERABAD: Police have stepped up surveillance on farmhouses following reports of illegal and anti-social activities being conducted at several properties.

On the lines of the Cyberabad Police Commissionerate, officials are examining a proposal to make entertainment licences mandatory for farmhouses in Malkajgiri.

Crackdown follows reports of illegal activities

Officials said farmhouses hosting events would require an amusement licence similar to that mandated for star hotels, theatres, bars, restaurants and pubs. A separate regulatory mechanism will be put in place to monitor compliance.

Police to mandate multiple clearances for licence

To obtain police permission, applicants must secure a no-objection certificate from the district fire department officer. They must also obtain a trade licence from municipal authorities, certification from the health officer, town planning approval and building permission documents.

Police said the move aims to bring farmhouses under a structured regulatory framework and curb unlawful activities.
