Economic Offences Wing Cyberabad registers 94 cases since inception

Gachibowli: The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of Cyberabad Police has registered 94 cases since its establishment in February 2024.

After its inception, the first case was registered on March 12, 2024. The EOW arrested 203 fraudsters and froze assets worth Rs. 30.77 crores. Property attachment proposals totaling Rs. 5.29 crores have been initiated.

Among the EOW’s significant cases, inclue protection of government property worth Rs. 400 crores in a fake E-passbook case. Another notable case involved a Bharathi Builders real estate fraud where they collected 25% initial payments from 395 victims, amounting to Rs. 60 crores through false promises and fraudulent MoUs.

The EOW has effectively tackled land-related frauds, arresting 10 individuals involved in fake government land documents, protecting property worth Rs. 200 crores. Similarly, six accused were arrested for similar offenses involving government property valued at Rs. 600 crores.

In a recent cases involving 12 Wealth Capital Services Company, the EOW uncovered a multi-scheme fraud affecting 360 victims totaling Rs. 300 crores. The accused operated schemes like Buyback Open Plots, Double Gold Scheme, Gold Chits Scheme, and Diwali Gold Scheme.

Advisory to the public

The Cyberabad EOW Police hereby advised the public to be aware of fraudsters, cheaters and not to invest money without proper enquiry in the name of good returns and huge profits. The department is committed to prosecuting the fraudsters, cheaters and ensuring justice to victims.
