Cyberabad Assistant Sub Inspector arrested for accepting Rs. 50,000 bribe

Medchal: Officials from the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) apprehended K. Madhu Sudan Rao, an Assistant Sub-Inspector of Police, at the Medchal Police Station, part of the Cyberabad Police Commissionerate in Hyderabad City Range-2, on October 7, 2024, at 6:30 p.m. He was caught red-handed while demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs. 50,000.
The bribe was solicited from the complainant in exchange for showing official favour, specifically to refrain from taking any coercive actions against him and to resolve a payment dispute between the complainant and his customers. The accused officer’s actions constituted a serious breach of his public duties.
The bribe amount was recovered from K. Madhu Sudan Rao, and chemical tests confirmed the presence of bribe-related substances on his right hand and in the right back pocket of his trousers.
K. Madhu Sudan Rao has been arrested and is being presented before the Hon’ble Principal Special Judge for the Special Police Establishment (SPE) and ACB Court in Nampally, Hyderabad. The case is currently under investigation.
