Hyderabad : Cyberabad Municipal Corporation (CMC) Commissioner G. Srujana said the focus is on developing Cyberabad with modern standards and improving civic services through coordinated efforts.

She spoke during a media interaction held at the CMC headquarters in HITEX on Saturday.

75 junctions identified for modernisation works

The corporation has decided to modernise 75 junctions within its limits. The aim is to ease traffic congestion and improve road infrastructure.

Under the H-City projects, flyovers and underpasses will be completed within deadlines. The estimated cost is ₹2,500 crore.

At the Triple IT junction, three flyovers and one underpass are planned. At Raidurgam–Khajaguda junction, one flyover and one underpass will be constructed.

Waste clearance plan near IKEA under consideration

Around 15 lakh metric tonnes of waste remain on vacant land near the IKEA store between Raidurgam and Madhapur in the IT corridor.

The 13-acre land is under a court dispute between private parties and district revenue authorities. If the land is allotted to the government, ₹90 crore will be required to clear the waste.

Officials are also examining the option of building a vertical garden without removing the waste.

Road expansion and open space development underway

A 200-foot road expansion from Chandanagar via Ameenpur is in progress. Similar works are ongoing at Anjaiah Nagar in Gachibowli.

There are 1,590 open spaces under CMC limits. Plans are being prepared to develop them.

To curb open urination, the corporation plans to implement international-standard sanitation measures.

Mosquito control and sanitation enforcement intensified

Anti-larval operations are underway across three zones, 16 circles and 76 wards.

The corporation plans to mandate dustbins at all commercial establishments. Trade licences will be cancelled if they fail to comply.

CMC has 217 km of drains. Desilting work is 80% complete and will be finished by May 15. Contractors will face action for delays.

Ward development plans will be implemented to ensure uniform development.

Property tax collections exceed target; staff shortage flagged

CMC recorded ₹510 crore in property tax collections in April, surpassing targets.

Pending bills worth ₹140–₹150 crore will be cleared after completion of works. Funds are available.

The commissioner highlighted a severe staff shortage in the town planning wing. Some officials are working in both Vikarabad and Cyberabad on alternate days.

The issue has been raised with the government, and additional staff are expected during the next general transfers.

Search on for land for CMC headquarters

The corporation requires four acres of land for a new office building.

Earlier proposals at Kukatpally Khaithlapur were dropped due to legal disputes. A new site near Mondikunta, protected by HYDRA, has been identified. About two acres are usable after buffer zones.

Another option at the NAC campus is also under review. The corporation is searching for a centrally accessible location.
